My real estate career began in the fall of 1977 in Winnipeg, MB. Born and raised there, I saw the industry as a great opportunity to learn about the business of real estate. From residential construction and appraisal to sales and marketing, it has so much diversity and challenge for the right individual. Early in my career, I soon realized that a background in psychology, real estate law, accounting and the art of communication would also be of great benefit to my profession. Fortunately, my love of photography has allowed me to use this skill in my business.
In the spring of 1991, I met my wife who lived in Victoria. BC. By the end of that year, I had moved to Victoria to continue my real estate career on beautiful Vancouver Island. I will always have fond memories of my years in Winnipeg. It is still one of the best cities in Canada.
Today, my family and I reside in an area commonly known as the Westshore. We love this part of the city. It is a diverse area made up of both rural and urban neighborhoods. There are oceanfront and lakefront properties, farms and acreages as well as a variety of single family and strata housing neighborhoods. Here you will find great schools, great shopping and the Juan de Fuca Recreational Complex; one of the best recreational facilities you’ll find anywhere on Vancouver Island. The Westshore really has it all and is one of the fastest growing communities in British Columbia today.
As a Realtor, I quickly realized the benefits of specializing in this area of the city. Since 1992, I have worked hard to develop a loyal clientele of families and friends in Greater Victoria. However, most of my business has been focused on the Westshore. There is no question that over the years, the local market knowledge that has been acquired in the areas of Colwood, Langford, Metchosin and the Highlands which make up the Westshore, has been of great benefit to anyone interested in living in this vibrant part of the city.
Having two children of our own, has also allowed us to meet many other families as well. Most of my business revolves around the needs of families and the changes that occur over time. And from over thirty years of helping people move, I have seen the circle of life truly evolve in the lives of many families across this country.
Looking back, I have had the privilege of working with some great real estate professionals at a time when the valued principles of business still widely existed. A handshake meant something to one another. The simple courtesy’s of please and thank you mattered back then and there was more respect shown towards each other.
So, although the manner of how business is conducted has changed, there are still those individuals who practice theirs with a high degree of integrity, honesty and professionalism. I am proud to say that I am one of them. It has, and always will be, an honor to have played an important part in people's lives with respect to their real estate needs.
Although most of my business today is by referral, I always welcome the opportunity to meet with new clients. With that in mind, I hope that I can be of service to you and your family in the future.
